Starting Point: Select any cell within the Pivot Table template. You may or may not have actually dragged fields onto the template.
From the Pivot Table toolbar, click the PivotTable Wizard button. (The 3rd window of the Wizard displays. If the 1st window of the wizard displays then a cell within the template was not selected.)
Click Layout.
Drag a field to at least one of the following layout areas:
Drop Page Fields Here
Drop Row Fields Here
Drop Column Fields Here
From the Pivot Table toolbar, click and drag a field to Drop Data Items Here area.
Note: You can drag multiple fields to any area of the Pivot Table template.
Click OK.
Click Finished.
