Fields


 

A field  is a category of information that contains items. The column headings in the original data source become the fields in your Pivot Table.   There are two types of fields:

 

  1. Page / Row / Column

  2. Data

Allows the user to display a summary of all of the items in a field or easily drill down by selecting one specific item which filters out all of the other items.

Sales Rep

A field whose items display in rows.

Column

A field whose items display in columns..

Data

Unit

A field  that contains data which you want summarized.  Some of the different ways the data can be summarized includes:  summing, averaging, or counting.
